Meet the team: Robert Henderson
Robert helps to make sure our operations are optimal at Topflite. He’s the one who’s keeping an eye on all the details in the distribution centre, ensuring everything is available and, when it is, that it’s picked, packed and sent on it's merry way quickly and in perfect condition. We’re stoked to be working with Robert – he’s always positive, professional and, much like his favourite animal, never forgets a detail…
Name: Robert Henderson
Position: Warehouse and Logistics Manager
How long have you worked at Topflite? Since 2018
What does your daily work involve? A lot of my work involves staying on top of stock levels, ordering in mixes and stock if needed, and picking orders for dispatch. I’m also fixing any problems that come up in the day-to-day running of Topflite. You’ve got to work quickly to ensure any issues stay small ones. I’m also always looking at the efficiency of our systems and how we can make improvements here. That means checking and testing processes and workloads and coordinating between all the different areas of the company.
What’s the best part of the job? To be honest it’s what doing this job has allowed me to do. I’m working with a good team here and outside of work it’s given me a good lifestyle in Oamaru with my partner. There’s time to enjoy life when I’m not working.
What is one thing you’d like people to know about Topflite? It’s our dedication to providing a wide range of quality animal feed, and our willingness to go the extra mile to achieve this.
Do you have any pets? Yes we have two cats, Benny and Molly, plus all the wild birds we feed.
What’s your favourite animal? I have many but, if I had to choose one, I’d say that elephants always fascinate me.
Where’s your favourite place in New Zealand? It would be the Mackenzie Country and all that you can do there.
Outside of work what are your interests? I enjoy golf, ten pin bowling and darts. We are also hoping to do more traveling overseas in the future.

Embrace the chaos
A boon for biodiversity, chaos gardening takes a natural approach to garden planning, with flowers growing alongside vegetables, plants left to go to seed, and straight rows given over to haphazardness.
