Meet the Team: Quentin
Known around Topflite HQ as the Hay Packing King, Quentin Linwood is a cheerful team player who is not afraid of hard work (but always manages a laugh while he’s at it.) His love of fast-paced action movies has lately merged with real life, with dirt biking a newfound hobby. But dirt biking comes second to his primary passion: quality time with his young family.
Name: Quentin Linwood
Position: Operations Team
How long have you worked at Topflite?
3 and a half years
What first attracted you to working at Topflite?
The hours allowed me to be there for my two kids.
What are your interests outside of work?
I just purchased a Suzuki DRZ125 to feed my love of dirt biking. I also love spending time with my wife Amy and our kids Oliver and Charlie at the park and playing basketball. And sometimes a little bit of Playstation!
What does your daily work involve?
Setting up for the day ahead, changing chutes over, getting bales loaded, and labelling bags if required. Then there’s packing hay, loading pallets to be sent into dispatch, and quality control, which means checking hay for any foreign matter.
What’s the one thing you always have to get right in your work?
Quality control! Making sure only a top quality product is being sent out to customers.
What is one thing you’d like people to know about working at Topflite?
It’s a pretty great place to work! The environment is relaxed, the people are fun and everyone knows how to have a good laugh.
Do you have any pets?
Yes, we have two 13-year-old tabby cats named Lilo and Eva, and two dogs, a 15-year-old chihuahua called Stitch and a 6-year-old walk-a-holic named Holly.
Do you have a favourite book or movie?
I love old school action, especially Arnold Schwarzenegger movies like Predator and Commando.
What’s your favourite animal?
Cats.
Where’s your favourite place in New Zealand?
The Waitaki lakes area. As for where I would like to go…anywhere with a motorbike!
What are you surprisingly good at?
My wife would laugh at this, but I am not too bad at cooking – I make mean nachos!
What are your career goals?
To become a racecar driver!
